Subject: Concern Regarding HB257 - Protecting Utah Women and Children

Hi Senator _________,

My name is _____________ and I live at ___________________. As one of your constituents, I’m contacting you with my concern that HB257 endangers Utah women and children.

Without HB257 if I saw a man entering a women’s bathroom there would be immediate cause for concern and likely action.

If HB257 passes, if I see a man enter the women’s bathroom how am I to know if they are a biological male or a trans man? Who am I to question them?

HB257 normalizes men in women’s bathrooms. If Trans men, people who are totally male presenting, are required to use women’s bathrooms it creates the perfect cover for bad actors and male predators to enter women’s bathrooms.

I appreciate the intention to keep women safe. However, this bill will open the door to creating a problem that doesn’t exist without it.

Please protect Utah women and children by voting against this dangerous bill.

Thank you for your time,

Subject: Concern Regarding HB257 - Protecting Utah Women and Children

Dear Senator _________,

I trust this message finds you well. My name is _____________ and I am one of your constituents residing at ___________________. I am reaching out to express my concern regarding HB257 and its potential impact on the safety of Utah women and children.

Without HB257 in place, the presence of a man in a women's bathroom would understandably raise immediate concern and likely prompt necessary action. However, with the passage of HB257, the challenge arises in distinguishing between a biological male and a trans man in the women's bathroom, leaving me uncertain about how to address such situations without causing discomfort or misunderstanding.

I worry that HB257 may inadvertently normalize the presence of men in women's bathrooms. While I appreciate the intention to safeguard women, requiring trans men – individuals who are male presenting – to use women's bathrooms could create a loophole for potential misuse by bad actors and male predators.

In my view, the bill has the potential to introduce a problem that currently does not exist. I urge you to consider the implications carefully and, in the interest of protecting Utah women and children, kindly vote against this bill.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my concerns. Your commitment to the well-being and safety of our community is highly valued.

Sincerely,

_________
